Jarmo
Jarmo, but a village by postindustrial standards, was probably the first city on Earth.
Together with Jericho, Mureybet, and Tell Abu Hureyra, Jarmo was a farming community. Subsisting on cultivated cereals, sheep and goats were also kept.
The concept of the city developed gradually during the next 9,000 years to result in such places as New York City and Beijing.
